Poland to Sweden by Ferry: Gdańsk to Nynäshamn

The ferry between Gdańsk and Nynäshamn turns a transfer into part of the journey. It can also carry a car and more luggage than an air itinerary comfortably allows. The trade-off is that ports, check-in, cabin choices, and onward transport need more thought than a simple city-centre comparison suggests.

Poland and Sweden participate in Schengen, but carriers and authorities can still require identity documents and conduct checks. The traveller remains responsible for the entry and document rules that apply to their nationality and circumstances.

Onboard connectivity

Do not assume ordinary EU roaming behaves normally at sea. A phone can connect to a maritime or satellite network outside the land-based roaming arrangement and create unexpected charges.

Drivers should confirm the route, road conditions, charging or fuel needs, and parking at the final destination. Leave a buffer before any fixed Stockholm appointment; disembarkation and local traffic do not follow an airline-style arrival minute.
